Isabel Stanley, Teacher

I have been teaching for 19 years since graduating in 2001 at the Southland Campus of the Dunedin College of Education. Teaching is a passion – I love to see the growth and change in students from the beginning to the end of each year. I regard this profession as a privilege to be part of and I see teaching as an important part of the growth and development of both the individual and the class.

I love teaching ‘Inquiry’ style – my aim each year is to build independence, competence and passion in my students through engaging and challenging units of inquiry.

I believe in having balance in life, so teaching is part of my life – not all of life! I love the great outdoors, the mountains and the forests as well as spending time with family and friends.
